Replacement of DC boards and rectifiers in Building 106 of INPP

IGNALINA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (INPP)

The existing DC boards with rectifiers provide reliable supply of operating current to the relay and automation equipment, automation system for accident prevention, communication and remote control equipment, and electromagnetic interlocking in the 110/330 kV open switchyard. Two battery cells operating under constant charge are connected in the buffer of two primary rectifiers. The third rectifier is used as a backup rectifier during maintenance work, in case of failure of one of the primary rectifiers, and for control charging of a battery cell (inversion function).

The main objectives of the project were as follows: replacement of morally and physically obsolete equipment and improvement of power supply reliability for the auxiliary consumers of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.

AS PART OF THIS PROJECT, THE FOLLOWING WORKS WERE CARRIED OUT:

  • Designing, manufacturing, commissioning, and testing (at manufacturer's facility) of new certified equipment Gutor and Benning equipment, intended to replace the DC boards, rectifiers and uninterruptible power supply units ABP-6,3 kVA AS 110/330 kV at Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Equipment acceptance tests were carried out at manufacturer's facility and included preparation of procedures and programmes to be performed at manufacturer’s facility.
  • Installation under supplier’s supervision, equipment commissioning, putting into operation as well as training of repair and maintenance staff of INPP.

The technical design was prepared by our subcontractors ООО SPKB PROELEKTRO (specialized design centre PROELEKTRO, a limited liability company, Kiev, Ukraine).

Equipment installation under supplier’s supervision, testing and handover to operation as well as training of service and maintenance staff of INPP was carried out by our sub-contractors OOO SELKOM (limited liability company SELKOM, Kiev, Ukraine).
